Well, well, well… here we are again.
If you’ve followed RMC from inception, then you know apparel collections at RMC were all about FUNDING. It was intended to be a way to release product and get funds for the bigger projects.
All the projects RMC is working on right now are self-funded by me (Founder and CEO), and costs are going up for everything. And true we could do a Kickstarter campaign or use other platforms to raise funds, and maybe that is what will happen in the future but right now we’re in a phase where our projects are experimental. Either they’ve never been done how we’re getting ready to do it or it has been done but not in a way people have connected with that avenue of entertainment.
In order to crowdfund you have to TELL people what you’re working on, we (me and my incredible independent contractors) want to keep it under wraps until the projects launch.
I knew having no reputation or credibility as a company would hurt sales goals, and there probably wasn’t going to be much activity when I launched the first 3 apparel collections. Before that, I had one apparel collection for my blog for a story I wrote and well, I’m not sure why I thought the collections would go differently for RMC. I think it was wishful thinking.
Like back in my heretical Christianity days, if I still believed that way, I would fake-it-until-I-made-it praying up a storm God would make the merch sell miraculously and then think it was my disobedience or lack of faith if it fails. But let’s look at the facts.
I should have listened to my gut. Those collections were failures. My #1 failure was not understanding or even knowing who RMC’s target audience is…
I would be shocked if more than 20 people know RMC exists and who we are and that is my fault. I will own that mistake. I started the company with plans to be way more active than I am now and I make excuse after excuse as to why I can only do the bare minimum.
It will take a lot of work to build the name of RMC…
And we’re starting with The Surreal Jesus Collection. When you buy from the collection your purchase helps in 3 ways, it will bring brand awareness, help us raise funds for our super secret projects (mainly to pay vendors and collaborators and independent contractors to finish the projects), and you’ll help restore honor and respect to the Lord in entertainment media.
Also, inflation is high, if you can’t afford to buy from the line, pray for RMC! Prayers go the longest distance. And consider participating in the giveaway contest we’re having, you could when something from the collection.
In there collection there are eight designs, seven are inspired by biblical truth, and the Surreal Jesus Manual is packed with breaking down the meaning behind the seven designs should the shirt you buy strike up conversation, you can have an answer to share the Gospel! And just from a sister in Christ I share my thoughts on why it’s SO important to evangelize, especially now if you live in America.
(I feel like it’s important to preference I believe what the Bible teaches about men’s and women’s roles in the church and how leadership works based on God’s design. I’m a single lady who loves to share Jesus and that is biblical.)
And this collection could fail too… but I’m hopeful it doesn’t fail. The approach is different, the goal is similar but not the same, and all and all if ONE soul gets blessed through this collection all the hard work is worth it. I don’t want to see my worst enemies in this life perish eternally.
I want to personally thank you for your support and I pray you’re blessed by RMC’s content.
Much love,
Brianna Monique Williams, Founder and CEO of RMC
