Ides of March: The Kalends

This week, starting tomorrow, you will get to read a version of “The End” that I retitled “NE: New Earth”.

In this version, I took the main character, Brad Leigh, and made him a supporting character. I also made the character Sophia James a main character. Instead of starting the story out in her teen years, she is a young woman in her twenties.

Sophia is an agent for a government agency called EDSAI (pronounced ED-SAY), and for the life of me I can’t remember what it stood for. The agency is sort of like an FBI/CIA hybrid, and Sophia is the favorite of her boss, Stigmo. Now, in this version of the “The End”, Stigmo is Sophia’s adoptive father, but there is SO MUCH more to him, and I don’t want to give anymore about Stigmo away, because that will spoil everything for my future novel.

We also have Crys/Chris. The true nature of who Crys/Chris is will not be revealed in this version of “The End”. I don’t want to say too much about him, because it may spoil how fun this is to read.

All and all, what you mainly need to know is that everything is set in a dystopian future where humanity has risen from the ashes anew (to be fair, I came up with this idea before I ever heard of “Hunger Games”). Humans live in Dome Cities (yes, a little “Giver”-like). Humanity is constantly under the watchful eye of Stigmo, and outside the Dome Cities is the Wasteland filled with Savages- Zombie-like crazed people (yeah… a little “The 100”-like, and again, I thought of this before I ever heard of the series). Oh and there are Replicas (cloned people) and I can’t, for the life of me, remember why that was a thing, but I’m sure there was a good reason- oh, now that I typed this I recall why, but I still can’t say anything because that would divulge too much for the final novel version yet to be released.
